Celebrate Miles Davis

Jazz in Flight WHPK 88.5FM -
Airdate 5/30/06
On this airdate Phoenix & Zim will
spend time celebrating Miles Davis'
birthday by featuring recordings that
don't usually get a lot of airplay.
Mr. Davis' birthdate is 5/26.

Mr. Davis' pivotal postion as
musican,composer & bandleader,
took us to beautiful places. His sincere
love & passion of the music was
contagious.  This is documented by
the impressive careers of his sidemen.

The show will focus on the music
of a few of his successful sidemen
who benefitted greatly from their
musical collaborations and experiences
with Mr. Davis.  We will highlight the
music of  Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock,
Tony Williams & Mike Stern.
We will also reach back into the time
machine for some of the original vintage
Miles Davis recordings and some
Electric Miles as well.
Listen out for a sneak preview from a surprise guest.
